A road trip of two friends rocking Guatemala...!
Yeah... If only man could see inside a sentence... And watch everything that hides inside of it... Because a road trip is more than just a simple road trip... A road trip is full of laughs, risks, problems, life... It is an adventure that will remain forever in the hearts of those who decided to just hit the road and live...!
An evening before I left Germany and returned to Guatemala I spoke with one of my good friends that I made in Bamberg, the master in the electric guitar, Andy Arneth. We remembered the great time I had playing Sundays in the Sound-n-Arts club in the Sandstraße, Bamberg and so we rocked together the stage one last time... The atmosphere was perfect, I remind that my brother Christian Planken thought and said to me that it was my best performance of all in the club, the people had a great time, of that I'm sure, the club was full... Yeah it was a great farewell party for that point in my Life...!
But after that superb night where I was jamming with all the musicians I met in the time I lived in Bamberg, Andy said that he would surely come to Guatemala to visit me, to play the Rock'n Roll music and of course to see the pyramids in Tikal, because it was a dream he wanted to fulfill... And if I'm completely honest I have to say that I thought he was joking... But some months later I received a message from him saying that he had already bought the ticket to Guatemala so... The adventure began again...
Finally after some months waiting for the arrival of Andy to Guatemala, he made it on the 1st of February of 2016 and like the pirate he is (Jack Sparrow), looking for adventure, he was ready to rock the country with his Fender Telecaster. The only thing he needed was a little push and a confirmation of the decision we made in words...! And there I was... Ready to give him that push... Because if I say I'll do something... It is because I'll do it, and yeah... We just hit the road with our mission of rocking the country, filming all the videos we could, with of course, the best possible backgrounds of the beautiful Guatemala behind each session we made... And that is how the ''Rocking Guatemala'' documental was born... Andy and I played my songs around the country... And the last thing I can say about it is: WE HAD FUN.
Rocking Guatemala is coming... On June 5 2016...!
But not before Rock'n Roll takes on May because I'll release some videos, one per week, in May which will be part of the final documental.
